December 1999
Dear Tuffpak,
It is with great pleasure that I have a repeat opportunity prior to YK2/Mellinum to comment on Tuffpak's contribution during my recent hunt in the eastern zone of the California Sierra Mountain range. My may 1999 B.C. Canada bear hunt was a positive introduction to Tuffpak's low profile immunity from major A.L. terminal suspect scrutiny, i.e., petulant firearms vigilantes, always on the alert to spot traditional rifle case cargo. This time I drove my auto to the outfitters campsite over some pretty tough dirt roads. Not to worry my fine tuned/zeroed rifle, in soft rifle case and buffered Tuffpak traveled in the auto trunk "with out bracing" came through in optimal condition. See photo of the black bear/brown color phase that I took November 12th with outfitter Chuck Burt.
The bear could square at close to 7ft. with pre-field dressing weight estimated in the 550lb. range "trophy class per sci specifications."
Hunting-Firearms-Tuffpaks, forever.
Sincerely,
John A Hofert
